Do you ever feel like your business isn’t working, you can’t get people to look at your product or service, let alone buy anything? Do you feel like you a hamster on a wheel going nowhere, just running in circles?
If that’s you, I want to talk to you today about how to stay in the game when you feel like quitting, when you feel like nothing’s happening in your business. I have 4 steps to take to make sure you stay the course.
1. Personal Development. I know I talk about this all the time, but this really is the difference in quitting or not quitting. We have so much negativity come at us every single day and when things aren’t going our way, our first instinct is to give up. Personal development helps to train what’s in between your ears to think differently. When I consistently listen to or read some type of personal development daily, I am much more productive, I am much more positive and I am much more consistent in my business. When I don’t read or listen daily, that’s usually when negative thoughts start to creep in and I get discouraged or fearful. Fear holds us back and makes us quit. Personal Development kills fear. When we are growing as a person on a daily basis, it improves our mood, our self esteem and our determination. My favorites personal development trainers are Jim Rohn and Dani Johnson but there are many more out there. Just google it. You’ll find many options.
2. Have a schedule. This can be paper or online. You need to have set hours that you work and you need to have things planned out ahead of time. It’s so much easier to stay on track when you know what you are supposed to be doing. Every morning I write out at least 3 things I need to do for my business on that day and I am much more likely to accomplish them if I have them in my to do list and schedule. So you need a schedule.
3. Find an accountability partner, someone who will keep you on track. Someone who you can get to ask you daily or weekly if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Accountability is huge. And I do not suggest that be your spouse. No way, that will likely end in an argument later so make it a third party away from your home. Maybe find someone else in the same business as you and be each other’s accountability partners and help each other stay on track.
4. Track your prospecting numbers. I talked about this a little in a video a few days ago but want to stress the importance of tracking your numbers so that you know what you need to work on. You will know your percentage of people talked to/followed up and closed. And set a number that you want to hit each week prospecting and you will be much more likely to reach it.
