New Year Goal Setting for the Home Business Owner

Happy New Year! Today is January 1, 2018 and the first day of growing your business for 2018 for you! What will your 2018 be like in business?

One of the most important steps to create an income-producing powerhouse of a business is to set goals and follow through with them.

Setting goals is vital to our success. Today I want to share 3 goal setting tips with you.


1. Write down specific goals. Set daily weekly and monthly goals for your business. A daily goal could be to talk to 2 people a day about your business opportunity or post on social media once per day. A weekly goal could be as simple as talk to 10 people a week about your business opportunity, or create two blogs posts a week. Whatever you do and whatever you want to accomplish in your business, write them down, and look at them daily. Something I personally do is write down 3 things every morning that I am going to do in my business each day and I make sure I get them done. No excuses, no option.

2. Stay consistent. Do these every day. Consistency is the only way to grow your business. Don’t let your excuses steal your success. You must develop a “why” that is strong enough to keep you going even when you don’t want to anymore. Your “why” is your reason for starting the business in the first place. This could be to stay home with your kids, or retire your spouse, travel more, pay off debt or whatever. Everyone’s “why” will  be a bit different, but we all need a specific, strong “why” so that we will stay consistent even when we want to quit.

3. Track your numbers. This includes how many people you talk to, how many you follow up with, how many new customers and promoters you add every single month. You need to track your numbers daily, weekly and monthly. This is the only way to compare this month to last month. Knowing how much you really did in your business, I mean the real income producing activities like talking to people, is the only way to really track growth. So write down your goals, stay consistent daily in doing the activities which will help you reach those goals, and then track your numbers. Do this for 90 days and I guarantee you will see growth in your business.

BONUS TIP: Stay teachable, always learning from others. Personal Growth is vital to success. Listen to personal development every single day. Mindset is everything.
